Nic has had a significant impact within both our local community and our own farm environmentally, socially, and financially and has achieved what would take most people a lifetime, in only a few years. We have been so fortunate to have his full involvement in the Mahia Whangawehi Catchment Management Group. It is a credit to Nic and his endless enthusiasm and skill in successfully applying for and securing funding (time and time again) that our catchment is now fenced and planted with thousands of native trees. Nic has been the key driver throughout the whole process; from applying and securing funding, to planning and project managing the fencing, sourcing of native seedlings/trees and planting (all whilst engaging the community through the likes of planting days and bike rides). Nic has enabled us to leave a legacy on our own farm, a large area of retired riparian native. We continually pinch ourselves that we got this opportunity, we certainly could not have achieved this without Nic.
Pat and Sue O’Brien, Taharoa Trust, Mahia
Farming on the Mahia Peninsula we have been involved in large scale environmental work on our property as well as being part of the award winning Whangawehi Catchment Management Group, a 3500 hectare community led restoration project on the Mahia Peninsula, of which I am currently the Chair.
I have had the privilege and pleasure to work alongside Nic individually and collectively as a catchment group member for ten years. Nic project managed and was responsible for implementing the vision and goals of the catchment group and what more can be said, than we have received the Supreme Award at the 2017 Green Ribbon Awards –New Zealand’s highest environmental award. Our efforts have been internationally recognised by winning the International Pacific River Prize.
The scope of work Nic undertakes is diverse and he has the skill sets to deliver outstanding results. Organised, delivering on time, accountable, broad networks, paying meticulous attention to detail and being passionate about every project he undertakes.
In asking ourselves what we are looking for in a consultant all of the above plus Nic is a person of great integrity, honest, trustworthy, highly skilled and works incredibly hard to achieve outstanding results for all clients.
